Stationary (or “static”), non-varying, magnetic fields from magnets have fixed strengths. They are used in mattresses, bracelets, knee wraps and the like. Most have very shallow penetration into the body, resulting in a very limited ability to affect deeper tissues, and they rarely treat all the cells of the body simultaneously. Only skilled practitioners may guide you to get the best results from these approaches.
Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy was approved by the FDA in 1979 specifically for the healing of nonunion fractures, which came after a Columbia University study that was encouraged by NASA, and has recently gained attention in the U.S (even appearing as a segment on the Dr. Oz Show). The value of pulsed electromagnetic field therapy has been shown to cover a wide range of conditions, with well documented trials carried out by hospitals, rheumatologists, physiotherapists, and neurologists.
This entire range of effects because your cells and their mitochondria get an electronic “tune up” each night from the long duration exposure to these very-weak, frequency-specific pulsed electromagnetic fields. The mitochondria respond by improving cell respiration i.e. oxygen metabolism.  See our 10 Hz citations to learn about the mechanism; beginning with a 2 & 3 fold increase of the two key enzymes required for oxygen transport into and inside the mitochondria. Hood 1998.

Today we provide the largest variety of PEMF therapy products to the UK (with a few other health products to make it even better!). As a family run business we aim to provide our customers with honest, educational and trustworthy information. We believe that everyone needs PEMF therapy in his or her life, it’s not just a management tool, it’s prevention tool too. We like to think of it as our first aid kit!

Corticosteroid injections can be beneficial in reducing symptoms (Green et al 2003). Also, an ultrasound scan can assist with assessing the degree of tendon degeneration as well as showing the presence of bursitis, whereas an X-ray can exclude calcific tendinitis or degenerative joint changes of the acromioclavicular joint. MRI can exclude problems in the glenohumeral joint (e.g. labral tears).
The primary purpose of this website is to give those interested in PEMF's (pulsed electromagnetic fields) insights into the fundamental significance, the scientific background and the effects of the increasingly popular complementary medical application of PEMF's. In the last 5 years much has been accomplished and positively changed specifically in the field of PEMF systems for home use.
A systematic review aimed to examine the efficacy of rTMS on improving physical function and motor signs over the short- and long-terms in people with PD; Effect of Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation on Physical Function and Motor Signs in Parkinson's Disease: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis; Chung CL; Brain Stimul. 2016 Jul-Aug;9(4):475-87. Twenty-two trials comprising 555 people with PD were included in the review. The pooled evidence suggests that rTMS improves upper limb function in the short-term, walking performance and Unified Parkinson’s Disease rating Scale (UPDRS III) in the short- and long-terms in PD sufferers.
Nasal defect with long nasolabial flap. A, Immediate postoperative view with poor circulation in flap. B, After 30 minutes of pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (PEMF) in the recovery room, obvious vasodilatation is shown. C, Postoperative view after 24 hours and 2 30-minute PEMF treatment sessions showing minimal edema and good vascularization D, Patient did not require pain medication and was maintained on 30-minute PEMF treatments twice a day for 1 week.

In addition, here at Center for New Medicine, when patients have the IV therapies or the hyperbaric oxygen, it helps drive those therapies and those nutrients to the affected area. As we can see with Coleen here, we’ve placed the loop, which is one of the attachments, right over her affected area—so we’ll run that for ten minutes. And then we’ll also run the mat which she’s currently lying on – the blue mat here – for ten minutes, to help the electrical pitch in all the cells in her body.
