PEMFs are frequency-based, applied to either the whole body or parts of the body.  PEMFs may only be needed for short periods of time, while the effects last for many hours, setting in motion cellular and whole-body changes to restore and maintain balance in metabolism and health. The body does not acclimate, or “get used to,” the healthy energy signals of therapeutic PEMFs, even if used for a long time, compared to magnets.
We bought this through Amazon and have had it about 2 months. Here is the deal: This does work. Yes, it is low power compared to the high power (MagnaWave, Pulse, Curatron, etc.) systems. Those I believe are useful for injuries and seriously infirm people - broken bones, Parkinsons, diabetes, etc. Those will also detox your body very quickly, sometimes leading to herxhiemer effects, flu-like symptoms, acute exhaustion as your body deals with toxins released from your cells. THIS system will give you energy, relieve chronic low-level arthritis, minor injuries and minor neuropathy. You will generally NOT deal with strong detox from the OMI-Mat, as it's lower power. The trick with the OMI-Mat is that you MUST use it 20-30 mins EVERY day for at least 3-4 days (on program P-1, in the morning or early afternoon) BEFORE you notice the effects. I did, and realized that I literally "just wasn't tired anymore" at the end of the day. Gave me energy to keep working late, WITHOUT exhaustion. This is the REAL deal and it works wonders if you give it a chance. You can miss a day or two during usage, but after a while, at least for me, the effects wear off somewhat. But, if you use the energy to start exercising, to "get over the hump" if you will, then capitalize on your use of this and move into better health and even more energy. If you are elderly and homebound or sedentary, this can be the most important tool for better circulation and energized blood. There is nothing close in this price range.
My experience as a physio in the community has involved lots of work with Parkinson's and increasingly I see the effects of stress and the social engagement system being critical to understanding and improving movement, and in the last 3 years have done much more work with body awareness during activity, whether it be gaining flexibility or strength or balance. The toughest part is engagement especially when the general physio community is not promoting the same message. As you're website implies, it requires such a commitment to your well-being. I totally admire your perseverance and have empathy for how challenging it must be for you at times.

Another study, in Bio-electromagnetics, looked at 11 different trials involving PEMF to determine its level of therapeutic effect as well as whether or not it was safe. Some of these studies involved PEMF’s effects on osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, or pain perception, while the rest focused on how PEMF impacted skin ulcers, fatigue related to multiple sclerosis, heart rate variability, and overall well-being.3
I have recently taken a career break from the NHS to follow my passion for cranial work and develop how I integrate the understanding that comes from cranial teachings with movement based practice. Your findings sit so in harmony with my experience. I have to say that I haven't gone out of my way to look further into similar approaches to P.d. - from what I see on you website, you appear to be pioneering a way forward - is this all your own research, or can you point me to other sources too?

The Earthpulse™ PEMF generator is small and portable, yet stronger than all but the large and non-portable $10,000+ pulsed electromagnetic field therapy device systems. Strong enough to effectively penetrate a 16 – 18 inch (40 – 45 cm) thick mattress. A steep enough electromagnetic pulse to induce microampere current in tissue, yet small enough to easily fit in a handbag or briefcase; at a fraction of the cost of low-energy mat based pulsed electromagnetic field therapy device systems.

A, Poorly vascularized chest wound following 2 excision procedures and 2 courses of radiotherapy. Two attempts at flap closure failed. B, Wound is resolved following 9 weeks of pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (PEMF) for 30 minutes twice per day. The wound was treated simultaneously with PEMF and sponge suction for 1 week and then PEMF alone until closure.

The charge of the cell membrane is affected by magnetic fields, causing the membrane channels to open up. These channels are similar to the windows and doors of a house. When the cell channels are opened, nutrients enter the cell more easily and the cellular waste is more easily removed, helping to rebalance and restore optimum function of the cell.
Post-surgery, approximately half of the participants engaged in PEMF therapy while the other half served as a control. After evaluating the patients’ statuses at one, two, three, six, and twelve month intervals, the researchers concluded that, “There were no differences in the incidence of adverse events in the two groups, indicating that the use of PEMF stimulation is safe in this clinical setting.” It’s important to note that, although PEMF was deemed safe in this study, there was still one major difference between the group who participated in this therapy and the group that did not.

Self-administered PEMF therapy for 60 min, three times a day, for an average of 278.4 months was offered to only 28 patients with advanced cancer: 7 breast cancer, 5 ovarian cancer, 3 pancreatic cancer, 2 colorectal cancer, 2 prostate cancer, 1 glioblastoma multiforme, 1 hepatocellular carcinoma, 1 mesothelioma, 1 neuroendocrine tumor, 1 non-small-cell lung cancer, 1 oligodendroglioma, 1 small-cell lung cancer, 1 sarcoma, and 1 thyroid tumor. None of the patients who received PEMF therapy reported any side effects; four patients presented stable disease for 3 years (thyroid cancer with biopsy-proven lung metastases), 6 months (mesothelioma metastatic to the abdomen), 5 months (non-small-cell lung cancer), and 4 months (pancreatic cancer with biopsy-proven liver metastases), respectively.

Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF or PEMT) is a non-invasive, painless treatment which works by emitting a pulsating, varying intensity and frequency electromagnetic field, coming from a solenoid placed around the patient. Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy was approved by the FDA in 1979 specifically for the healing of nonunion fractures, which came after a Columbia University study that was encouraged by NASA, and has recently gained attention in the U.S (even appearing as a segment on the Dr. Oz Show). The value of pulsed electromagnetic field therapy has been shown to cover a wide range of conditions, with well documented trials carried out by hospitals, rheumatologists, physiotherapists, and neurologists. PEMF was widely used and with great success in the 19th and early 20th century. These primitive electromagnetic therapeutic devices were used by both medical doctors and non-allopathic health practitioners.

While in the past people relied solely on the information and education of their doctor, today’s consumers hold the power of the internet to educate themselves and access beneficial information outside of their doctors scope of knowledge. Today’s health-focused consumers now have the ability to empower themselves with accurate, up-to-date information so they can determine which health devices are worthwhile and helpful, and which ones are expensive wastes of money and time.
Although electricity’s potential to aid bone healing was reported as early as 1841, it was not until the mid-1950s that scientists seriously studied the subject. During the 1970s, Bassett and his team introduced a new approach for the treatment of delayed fractures, a technique that employed a very specific biphasic low frequency signal[10][11][12][13] to be applied for non-union/delayed fractures. The use of electrical stimulation in the lumbosacral region was first attempted by Alan Dwyer of Australia. In 1974, he reported successful initiation of graft incorporation in 11 of 12 fusion patients.[14][15]
At Bulletproof, there’s a lot of talk about mitochondria, the battery packs of your cells. How many mitochondria you have and how strong they are affect everything you do — from performing better to living longer. There are ways to boost your mitochondria through diet and lifestyle. But what if you could charge up your mitochondria directly — in a sense, plug them in?
